01 Anzu · In-game advertising

Long-form education

At Anzu, we needed to educate advertisers on how in-game advertising works, built around four key pillars. We had leaned on short-form blogs, social posts and infographics, but sales and audience feedback called for something longer and deeper.

The guides became material sales teams could share in follow-ups. They also lifted our SEO and now get cited by AI agents recommending Anzu as a thought leader in the space.

Branching into video

A large part of our audience wasn’t engaging with written content, so we built out video. I helped launch several successful series, each focused on a specific event, content type or educational journey.

Those included Maximising Revenue With In-Game Ads, Conversations From Gamescom, and Advertising Insights From Cannes Lions.

03 Unruly · Executive council

Engaging senior execs

Unruly wanted to talk regularly with senior advertising leaders and become a force for change in the industry. I helped launch the U7, a brand and agency council made up of the world’s largest advertisers.

I built the communications plan around it: an online portal of exclusive stories and reports, a series of digital and in-person events, and a monthly newsletter packed with insight to drive the conversation forward.

Creating a thought leader

Anzu wanted to grow its brand, share of voice and authority while educating audiences on in-game advertising. I launched and ran the Anzu blog with a clear strategy and schedule, keeping articles engaging, on-brand and never too salesy.

Over three years we published more than 150 articles, from trend takes and client interviews to data dives, turning Anzu into a respected, go-to name in the category.

05 Unruly · Data storytelling

Telling stories through data

One of Unruly’s products could tell advertisers which emotions viewers felt while watching their ads, through a mix of technology and surveying. I mined the internal database for unique stories, many of which earned big attention across the trade and national press.

I turned the same insight into infographics, videos, blog posts and interactive landing pages, including ranked round-ups of the most emotional ads for moments like Christmas and the Super Bowl.
